Ontario
Non Profit Housing Association (ONPHA) is
the official voice of non-profit housing in Ontario. ONPHA's 692 non-profit
housing members provide almost 97,000 housing units for families, seniors,
people with disabilities, and the "chronically homeless." ONPHA represents
its members to all three levels of government. It promotes housing excellence
through its newsletter, regional meetings, courses and workshops, annual
conference, publications, and management advice.
Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada
- Ontario Region (CHF Ontario Region) is the provincial voice for
the 125,000 people living in non-profit housing co-operatives throughout
the province. CHF Ontario Region provides direct services to its approximately
500 member co-ops in the province and is also a strong advocate on housing
and homelessness issues. CHF Ontario Region is linked with CHF Canada,
which represents co-ops right across the country. We are part of the
international co-operative movement.
Putting
Housing Back on the Public Agenda is a community group which brings
together senior housing government officials, (past and present, elected
and nonelected, from all levels of government), community housing proponents,
housing developers, and others interested in affordable housing. Its
aim is to create broad public discussion which will help put housing
back on the public agenda. Over the past year this group has organized
several large public meetings, as well as smaller group meetings to
discuss policy, ways of increasing public awareness and contact with
government. Individuals with senior roles in all of the partner organizations
in this WEB SITE are active participants in PHBOPA. For information

Web Networks is a national,
unionized, non-profit Internet solutions provider dedicated to serving
the unique needs of the non-profit and social change communities in
Canada. From basic Internet access to complete web site development
and hosting, Web Networks has provided comprehensive communication tools
for the non-profit community since 1987. It also hosts the Web
Networks Community, an online gathering place of more than 3,500
Canadian non-profits, agencies, activists, and citizens working in the
areas of labour, international development, social service, the environment,
women's issues, and more. Web Networks supplies and supports the technical
tools necessary for Housing Again, including designing and hosting the
web site.
Prentice Yates and Clark
is a firm of chartered accountants who specialize in the non-profit
housing sector. They have been serving their non-profit housing clients
throughout southern Ontario since 1971. As a supporter of Putting Housing
Back on the Public Agenda PYC has joined the Housing Again partnership
to further the goals of the non-profit and co-operative housing movement
to provide reasonable housing to the community at an affordable price.
Meta Strategies Inc. is
a Toronto based consulting firm working to Develop electronic strategies
for community and nonprofit organizations. As a member of the HousingAgain
group Meta Strategies will support the partners to develop the online
resources over time in a way which builds on existing materials and
identifies ways to generate new content simply by finding new ways of
working together.
Shelter, Housing and Support Division of Community and Neighbourhood
Services Department, City of
Toronto, is responsible for the largest municipal non-profit housing
portfolio in Canada. It's staff play a critical role in housing policy
development in Toronto, as well as (informally) for municipalities through
the country. Its involvement in this initiative will provide significant
encouragement to participation by other municipalities.
CUCS facilitates, co-ordinates and disseminates multidisciplinary research and policy analysis on urban issues at the University of Toronto. Established in 1964, the Centre's research covers a wide range of areas relevant to the social and economic well being of people who live and work in urban areas large and small, in Canada and globally. CUCS helps maintain the library of housing research materials in the Resources section of Housing Again.
